In 2019, well before I fully understood the nervous system and the role it plays in… literally everything, I set out on a mission to heal the cycle of anxiety, depression, and stress that I found myself stuck in. I shifted my focus inward and got curious. For years I explored the cognitive side of my mental health through therapy, studying, and experimenting with different modalities. Despite drastic improvements and important personal discoveries, I still found myself stuck in survival mode. While it is an important piece of the puzzle, the awareness and understanding could only take me so far. Then I discovered somatics. After immersing myself in programs and training, it was clear to see just how much healing can be done when you involve the physical body. Surprised by the ease and effectiveness of somatic movement and release, I remained consistent (something I historically struggled with). I soon found myself “thawing” - feeling calm and clear yet energetic, putting past experiences behind me, embodying a new level of confidence and acceptance in who I am, and really integrating all the inner work I had done over the years. I was finally feeling alive. Not a day goes by that I don’t have immense gratitude for finding this work. Now a trained somatic exercise teacher, nervous system healer, and journaling enthusiast, I help people transform their lives by connecting them to their body’s innate ability to heal itself without overlooking the importance of the stories in our minds, the influence of our subconscious, and the power of guided self-reflection.
